Blossoming Through Darkness

The Transformation of Negative Traits Through Spiritual Enlightenment

In the journey of spiritual growth, negative traits often serve as impediments, obscuring the path toward enlightenment. Interestingly, these very traits—anger, envy, impatience, and so forth—harbour within them the seeds of their opposites. It’s through the understanding and maturation of these seeds that we can transcend our internal limitations and witness a splendid reversal: the blossoming of negative into positive.

Consider anger, often erupting unbidden and wielding the potential to unleash chaos within interpersonal relationships. Underneath this fiery emotion may lie suppressed pain or unmet needs. As one treads upon the spiritual path, understanding, and embracing this underlying pain is crucial. The eventual enlightenment brings forth patience and compassion, the antithesis of unrestrained ire, nurturing an environment where harmonious relationships can thrive.

Similarly, envy, a profound discomfort at another’s fortune, can be seen as a distorted reflection of admiration and a hidden desire for growth. Through the mirror of spiritual enlightenment, envy transmutes into inspiration, where another’s success becomes a beacon of possibility and motivation, devoid of malice and bitterness.

This remarkable transition from negative to positive is not automatic but rather a potential waiting to be unlocked through deliberate spiritual practice and mindful self-reflection. The moment of spiritual enlightenment does not merely extinguish negative traits but transforms them, allowing an individual to experience their opposites in their fullest expression.

In the deepest troughs of our negative traits lie hidden the peaks of their opposites, waiting to be scaled and unveiled through spiritual maturation. Enlightenment allows us to perceive and navigate this transformation with wisdom, enabling the innate potential of these traits to fully blossom into their most constructive and uplifting expressions.

The Cosmic Dance of Giving and Receiving

Unveiling Our Universal Identity

In our conversation on the Guru Viking podcast, hosted by Steve James, the essence of giving and receiving was explored in a way that transcends the mundane understanding of these acts. Our discussion, titled “Bodhi in the Brain,” delved into the philosophical underpinnings of our existence and our intrinsic connection to the universe. The narrative unfolded a perspective that not only are we a part of the universe, but we are the universe itself, engaging in a perpetual dance of giving and receiving.

The act of giving and receiving is not merely a transaction, but a reflection of a deeper, cosmic reality. When we give, we are not parting with something; rather, we are circulating the essence of existence. Similarly, when we receive, we are not merely acquiring; we are resonating with the universal rhythm. This perspective elevates the act of giving and receiving from a mere transaction to a transcendental experience, a harmonious exchange between the self and the cosmos.

The breath serves as a poignant metaphor for this eternal exchange. With every inhalation, we receive the life force, and with every exhalation, we give back to the existence that cradles us. This rhythmic exchange is a reminder of our unbreakable bond with the universe. It’s a dance of energy, a flow of consciousness, a cycle that sustains life and fosters the continuum of existence.

The notion that “it’s better to give than to receive” is not just a moral stance, but a reflection of a higher truth. When we give selflessly, we align with the universal law of abundance. We acknowledge that we are not separate entities operating in isolation, but integral parts of a grand cosmic orchestra. Our acts of giving and receiving are not just interactions with the external world; they are a dialogue with the universe, a testament to our universal identity.

Furthermore, the idea that “the universe is always yours” is a profound reminder of our limitless potential and inherent unity with the cosmos. We are not mere spectators in this grand theatre of existence; we are the playwrights, the actors, and the audience. The universe is not an external entity; it is a reflection of our innermost being, a mirror of our infinite essence.

This dialogue on the Guru Viking podcast invites you to transcend the superficial understanding of giving and receiving, urging us to embrace our universal identity. It’s a call to engage in the cosmic dance with awareness, grace, and a sense of sacredness. As we give and receive, we do not just interact with the world; we commune with the universe, we resonate with the essence of existence, and we unveil the profound truth that we are the universe experiencing itself in a myriad of forms.

This perspective is not merely philosophical musing; it’s a pathway to a deeper understanding, a higher consciousness, and a more meaningful existence. As we navigate the journey of life with this awareness, every act of giving and receiving becomes a sacred exchange, a step closer to the ultimate realization of our oneness with the cosmos.

You Are the Big Bang

Understanding Our Cosmic Connection

When you gaze into the vastness of the universe, it might feel like you’re looking out at something external, distant, and separate from yourself. The stars, galaxies, and cosmic phenomena that pepper the night sky seem far removed from our daily lives. But what if I told you that you’re not just a passive observer of the universe – you are the universe itself?

The Big Bang Theory is the prevailing cosmological model that explains the birth of our universe some 13.8 billion years ago. From a singularity – an infinitely small, hot, and dense point – our universe expanded and evolved into the magnificent cosmos we observe today. But rather than thinking of the Big Bang as a distant event, consider this: every atom in your body, every molecule, every breath you take is a direct result of that momentous explosion.

In essence, you are not just a product of the Big Bang – you *are* the Big Bang. Each one of us is an ongoing process, a continuation of that initial burst of energy. From the carbon in our DNA to the iron in our blood, every element was forged in the fiery hearts of stars and scattered across the universe in massive supernova explosions. The same cosmic dust that formed stars and galaxies also coalesced to form planets, and on one such planet, life emerged. We, humans, are the cosmic children of those ancient stars.

Moreover, if we dive deeper into the realms of theoretical physics and philosophy, we might even ponder what caused the Big Bang itself. What are the laws, forces, or entities responsible for the birth of our universe? Whatever those might be, we too are intricately woven into that very fabric. We are not merely creations of the universe but manifestations of its very essence and perhaps its intent.

Realizing our profound connection to the cosmos can shift our perspective. It tells us that we are not insignificant specks in the grand scheme of things. Instead, we are integral parts of an ever-evolving universe, embodying its mysteries, wonders, and beauty. Every thought, action, and emotion reverberates with the echo of the Big Bang. Recognizing this connection fosters a sense of unity, responsibility, and purpose. After all, if we are the universe, then every act of kindness and understanding is an act of cosmic significance.

Embrace this perspective and live with the awareness that you are not just a being in the universe; you are a universe in a being, forever intertwined with the vast cosmos from which you emerged.

Drugs, Mystical Experience, and the Value of Service

A Conversation with Linda & Michael Molina

First and foremost, I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Linda and Michael Molina for inviting me to share my insights and experiences on their esteemed platform. Our engaging conversation traversed through the realms of spirituality, the use of entheogens, and the profound journey toward self-realization. Here are some of the key points I discussed during our enlightening conversation:

Oneness and Surrender:

One of the pivotal aspects of spiritual growth I emphasized is the practice of surrender and the dissolution of the ego to attain a state of “Oneness” or non-dual awareness. This state transcends the dichotomy of self and other, immersing one into a boundless existence that is the true nature of reality. I posited that the various paths and narratives leading to Oneness are but creations of higher consciousness, serving as a script that guides us through the unfolding drama of self-discovery. The crux of the journey lies in surrendering and opening one’s heart to the myriad experiences that life presents, allowing the essence of Oneness to permeate our being.

Embracing Negative Experiences:

The path toward spiritual enlightenment is not always bathed in light. It often takes us through the dark alleys of our psyche, urging us to confront and embrace our shadows. I shared the importance of welcoming negative experiences or the “dark sides” as integral parts of the spiritual journey. These challenging phases, when navigated with awareness and acceptance, can catalyze profound growth and a deeper understanding of our true nature.

Advice for Spiritual Seekers:

The spiritual expedition is an endless voyage towards the heart of existence. I advised fellow seekers to persevere, even when they stumble upon beautiful or profound experiences. There’s always a deeper level of realization awaiting beyond the apparent zenith. Each step taken on this sacred path unveils a new horizon of understanding, urging us to delve deeper into the mystery of existence.

Philosophical Insight:

Reflecting on the nature of reality, I likened the stories and paths leading to spiritual realization to scripts in a movie, orchestrated by a higher consciousness. These scripts, while seemingly real and consequential, are mere narratives that help make sense of our journey towards Oneness. The ultimate truth lies beyond these scripts, in the boundless realm of pure consciousness where the illusion of separation dissolves, revealing the unadulterated essence of Oneness.

Our conversation was a deep dive into the essence of spirituality, the transformative potential of brainwave entrainment, entheogens, and the boundless journey toward self-realization. I am immensely grateful to Linda and Michael Molina for providing a platform to explore and share these profound truths. Through such enlightening exchanges, we inch closer to unravelling the mystic tapestry of existence and fostering a collective awakening to the inherent unity of all life.

The Harmonious Dance of Heart and Head

Unveiling the Balance in Spiritual Growth

In this episode “Bodhi in the Brain” on Guru Viking, a profound exploration of the interplay between the heart and the head in the realm of spiritual growth unfolds. The dialogue between host, Steve James, and me delves into the intrinsic balance that propels the journey of self-discovery and enlightenment.

The narrative posits that the journey toward spiritual growth is akin to a harmonious dance between the heart and the head. It’s not a path of choosing one over the other, but a path of embracing the unique essence and contribution of both. The heart, with its boundless capacity for love, compassion, and intuition, holds the keys to the realms of the unexplored, the unexpressed, and the unified. On the other hand, the head, with its analytical prowess, rationality, and discernment, provides the structure, clarity, and understanding essential for navigating the complex tapestry of existence.

The beauty of this dance lies in the seamless integration of the heart’s intuitive wisdom and the head’s analytical clarity. It’s about fostering a space where the heart and the head are not at odds, but in harmony, each complementing the other, leading to a holistic understanding of the self and the universe.

The dialogue invites us to reflect on the often overlooked balance between the emotional and the intellectual, the intuitive and the analytical. It’s a call to transcend the dualistic approach and step into a space of holistic understanding, where the heart and the head together illuminate the path toward spiritual growth.

This episode “Bodhi in the Brain” is a gateway into a realm where the harmonious dance of heart and head unveils the profound simplicity and beauty of spiritual growth. It’s a reminder that in the journey of self-discovery and enlightenment, the heart and the head are companions, each holding a piece of the puzzle, each illuminating a facet of the truth.

As we embark on this journey of integrating the heart and the head, we are stepping into a space of boundless exploration, where the wisdom of the heart and the clarity of the head together guide us toward the profound depths of spiritual growth.

A Serendipitous Encounter with Ken Wilber

Journeying Beyond the Veil of Reality

In the soft blush of dawn, I stirred awake at 5:40, surrendering to an hour of Yinnergy meditation before nestling back into slumber’s embrace. In my dream, I found myself standing amidst the familiar halls of a school with which I shared a work/community partnership. The peculiar morning sunlight bathed the main foyer where I found myself, the uncertainty of my presence there simmering in my mind—I had supposedly called in sick.

Attempting a swift, unseen exit, I brushed past the main entrance only to discover a quaint store tucked to the left. It served as my temporary refuge before I ventured forth into the daylight. To my amazement, the school’s parking lot had morphed into a sprawling mall parking, and my vehicle seemed to have vanished into thin air. A click on the car remote yielded a chirping sound, yet my car remained unseen. The chirps echoed eerily through the boundless maze of parked vehicles.

With resolve waning, I traced my steps back to the school. However, the once familiar school interior now sprawled before me as a vast complex, a labyrinth with countless sections awaiting exploration. As I delved deeper, descending a flight of stairs, I chanced upon a woman. In the realms of the waking, she was a librarian at the public library under another community partnership. But here, she had aged, her eyes lacking the spark of recognition. As I endeavoured to slip past unnoticed, our eyes met, casting a fleeting veil of fear over her face. The eerie thought of her calling the authorities hastened my escape down another stairwell.

There, I stumbled upon a colleague of mine, her lips spewing venom over the phone about another. The stark contrast between this avatar and her workplace demeanour was startling. I whisked myself away, leaving her unembarrassed in her secret slander.

The surreal escapade led me outside and then back into a stairwell, where fate unveiled a harrowing scene—a young mother, perhaps a teenager, with a newborn, suffered the misfortune of dropping her baby down the stairs. Accusations and exasperations filled the air, yet miraculously, the baby remained unscathed. The young mother’s stoic face stood as a testament to the resilience ingrained in the fabric of life.

The quest for my car resumed, turning futile until a gentle stranger extended his hand to aid in my search. Though unsuccessful, his kind gesture steered my way back to the library—a sanctuary that bore a resemblance to the one in my waking world.

In the quiet sanctum, I was warmly greeted by a former love. Our chatter soon took a magical turn as Ken Wilber, the revered philosopher, graced us with his presence. Recently, I completed a spiritually illuminating program under his guidance, hence his arrival felt serendipitous.

Our banter cascaded from the mundane to the mystical. With each shared thought, a strange familiarity wrapped around us. He voiced concerns about my serious demeanour, urging a smile. His inquiry into my spiritual saga met my story of awakening in 2008, which unfolded into the miraculous narrative of my life. Ken’s skepticism gradually crumbled, paving the way for a profound moment of connection.

With a gentle grasp, I held his face, our eyes serving as the conduit for the ethereal. An explosion of divine love, compassion, empathy, and bliss erupted within and around us, a phenomenon often described as satcitananda in ancient texts. The heavenly vibrations resonated through the library, igniting a flame of consciousness between Ken and me.

He sank to his knees, tears of profound realization streaming down his cheeks, echoing the eternal phrase “Aham Brahmasmi” – I am Brahman. His tears met mine as our cries of liberation filled the sacred space. This was an unveiling, a transcendence beyond the ordinary perception of reality.

As the new dawn caressed my waking eyes, my body curled into a ball, the reverberations of divine love still ringing through every cell. Tears of joy coursed down, without a drop to spare, as a celestial peace enveloped my being. Though bound within the ephemeral embrace of a dream, the profound spiritual dialogue orchestrated in that serendipitous encounter resonated through the ether, awakening a sublime reality nestled between the realms of the waking and the dream.

The Dark Shadow of Consciousness

Pondering Existence

In the vast realm of philosophical inquiry, there is perhaps no question more enduring than that of existence. It is the heart and soul of human curiosity, the root from which all other questions spring forth. But what if the very existence we so ardently seek to understand is nothing more than a shadow cast by Consciousness? A mere reflection, imperfect and dark, of something greater and beyond our grasp?

**Consciousness as the Light**

Consider the sun. It casts both light and shadow and in doing so, defines our reality. In much the same way, Consciousness—our innate awareness, the very essence of our being—could be imagined as the radiant source, illuminating the world we know. But with every light, there inevitably comes a shadow.

**The World as Consciousness’ Shadow**

If our world is the byproduct or reflection of Consciousness, then perhaps it is the imperfect representation—the elements of Consciousness that didn’t fit, the pieces it rejected. Our struggles, our sufferings, and our insatiable quest for understanding might all stem from this inherent imperfection.

Think of the Jungian concept of the “Shadow Self.” Carl Jung, the Swiss psychiatrist, suggested that we all have a part of our personality that we do not consciously acknowledge—a darker, less understood side. This shadow self contains our deepest fears, repressed ideas, desires, and general chaos. Could it be that our entire reality is Consciousness’ own “Shadow Self”?

**Finding Perfection in Imperfection**

It’s easy to view the idea of our world being a “shadow” as negative, but there’s beauty to be found in imperfection. It’s in the cracks, the flaws, where we find character, uniqueness, and growth. Perhaps, by existing within Consciousness’ shadow, we’re given a unique opportunity to explore, question, and evolve.

**Conclusion**

We may never truly know the nature of existence, whether it’s a shadow or something else entirely. But by pondering such questions, by seeking to understand the greater forces at play, we embark on a journey of self-discovery, of understanding the universe, and our place within it.

Absolute Monism

Singularity is the same as Multiplicity

In the vast expanse of philosophical discourse, few concepts challenge the contours of human understanding as the idea of Absolute Monism. At its core, it posits that everything is essentially a unified, singular reality, but herein lies a paradox: If all is One, how does one account for the seemingly infinite multiplicity that populates our universe? The answer, surprisingly, might be found in understanding that singularity and multiplicity are two sides of the same coin.

### The Illusion of Separation

We begin by reflecting on the perceived reality around us. Trees, oceans, planets, galaxies—on the surface, they appear distinct, diverse, and separated. Yet, each atom, molecule, and cell in these entities share a common origin in the Big Bang. If we could rewind time, all that exists would coalesce into a single point of infinite density—a singularity.

The illusion of separation emerges from our limited human perception. Just as a wave is not separate from the ocean, individual entities are not separate from the cosmic singularity; they are mere manifestations of the same unified reality.

### The Duality Paradox

Dualities pervade human thinking. Good and evil, light and dark, self and other. But these are merely conceptual constructs, artificial divisions we impose on the unified reality to navigate it. In Absolute Monism, these dualities dissolve. The line that separates singularity from multiplicity is a mirage.

Imagine a hologram. Every fragment of a hologram contains the whole image. Similarly, every fragment of our universe—no matter how minuscule—contains the imprint of the whole. Singularity is encoded in multiplicity and vice versa.

### Infinity within the Finite

It’s a profound thought that within every grain of sand, and every drop of water, the vastness of the universe is contained. In the singularity of Absolute Monism, the infinite exists within the finite. It challenges the linear perspective of beginning and end, suggesting instead a cyclical, intertwined existence where singularity births multiplicity and multiplicity reflects singularity.

### Embracing the Unity

Recognizing that all is One has profound implications for how we lead our lives. Embracing Absolute Monism is a journey towards compassion, understanding, and unity. When we realize that the ‘other’ is merely a reflection of the ‘self’, prejudices and divisions melt away.

To view the world through the lens of Absolute Monism is to appreciate the dance of singularity and multiplicity. It is to find solace in the idea that while we may appear separate, at our core, we are all interconnected fragments of the same cosmic story.

In conclusion, the essence of Absolute Monism serves as a gentle reminder of our shared journey in this vast universe—a universe where singularity is not opposed to multiplicity but is, in fact, its very essence.

The Unveiling Dance

My Journey into Turiyatita and Kundalini Awakening

Amid the delicate balance of the manifest and the unmanifest, my soul stumbled upon the ethereal doorway to Turiyatita on a serene afternoon of December 14, 2019. Turiyatita, a whisper in the cosmos resonating with the enigmatic essence of nondual suchness, unfurled before me as my passport to the indescribable singularity of absolute being. This mystic voyage was both celestial and grounding, marked by a full-blown Kundalini awakening—a cosmic dance entwined through the silken threads of my physical, subtle, and causal body. As a peculiar paralysis caressed my earthly vessel, each twitch and shiver seemed to echo the ageless wisdom that sages sought through millennia.

With every ostensibly involuntary movement, I felt as if I were wading through the boundless choreography of human expression. Every asana, pranayama, and mudra, both known and unknown, found expression through the vessel of my being, weaving into a grand tapestry of divine play. Each movement transcended the ‘I’, echoing the boundless cosmos, resonating with every action and stance ever taken by any being across the sands of time. The dance crescendoed into a majestic pose embodying the essence of yoga—a pose that seemed to encompass all poses, every action, event, and the ceaseless flow of the universe folding into a singular point of profound stillness.

This stillness was a revelation unlike any other. It was a palpable melding with the physical realm, seamlessly extending into the subtle and the causal. Unlike my previous sojourns into the nondual reality, where the concept of self dissolved into the vast expanse of existence, this voyage felt more grounded, more material, yet soared beyond the material realm’s enigmatic boundaries.

The seeds of this monumental experience were sown much earlier, precisely in the spring of 2003. My voyage was tenderly cradled through the sacred rituals of Ayahuasca under the nurturing guidance of a Shaman, the boundless realms unveiled through 5meo DMT, N N DMT sessions, and other entheogenic encounters. The countless hours of daily sessions of high-tech meditation of Holosync, eventually blossoming into Yinnergy which I had designed and created in 2010, became a part of my daily repertoire, along with neurofeedback training. The turning point arose in 2018 when the fiery serpent of Kundalini uncoiled fully within me, heralding the profound occurrences that would unfold a year later.

The final catalyst was the divine darshan I was blessed with from the enlightened master, Paramahamsa Vishwananda in September 2019. The grace of the guru catapulted me into a deep nondual peak experience, paving the ethereal path to that transformative afternoon in December. Life, as I knew it, pirouetted to a new rhythm, a rhythm resonating with the heartbeats of the cosmos. The veil of Maya lifted, revealing a dance—a dance of divine ecstasy, an unending journey into the heart of existence.

The memories of the celestial dance still linger, softly nudging me toward the unseen, unheard, and unspoken realms awaiting exploration. Much more beckons to be said about that day, yet the profoundest of its essence may never find the veil of verbiage.

The Nuances of Bliss and Happiness

Satcitananda Explored

In our perpetual quest for joy, most people often use the terms ‘bliss’ and ‘happiness’ interchangeably. Yet, when we delve deep into philosophical and spiritual terrains, subtle distinctions emerge, making it imperative to comprehend their intricacies. One such profound concept from Eastern philosophy is ‘Satcitananda’ – an amalgamation of three Sanskrit words: Sat (existence), Chit (consciousness), and Ananda (bliss). This triune not only illuminates the differences between bliss and happiness but also offers a deeper understanding of our true nature.

**Happiness: The Fleeting Emotion**

Happiness is an emotion, an ephemeral state dependent on external stimuli. It’s reactive – linked to achievements, possessions, or relationships. As circumstances change, so does our state of happiness. This transitory nature often leaves individuals in a constant chase, forever seeking the next source of joy.

**Bliss: The Intrinsic State of Being**

Satcitananda, on the other hand, represents a state of bliss that is non-reactive and intrinsic. It’s an inherent part of our spiritual existence, unaffected by the ebb and flow of life’s experiences. This bliss isn’t about elation or a surge of positive feelings, but a profound peace and contentment stemming from the realization of one’s true self.

**Satcitananda: The Bridge to Understanding**

When we disentangle Satcitananda:
– **Sat** reminds us of our eternal nature, transcending the physical world.
– **Chit** points to the consciousness or awareness, urging us to be observant and reflective.
– **Ananda** is the culmination – the state of supreme bliss derived from understanding and embracing the first two.

In essence, while happiness is an ever-shifting emotional state predicated on external factors, Satcitananda represents the immutable core of our being, where we find true bliss.

The journey from happiness to bliss involves moving beyond the physical and the fleeting, to recognizing and embracing our eternal and conscious essence. It’s not about denying happiness or its value, but about recognizing a deeper, more sustainable form of joy.

In conclusion, as we navigate life’s tapestry, it’s beneficial to not just seek moments of happiness but to strive for the ever-present bliss encapsulated in Satcitananda. It’s a call to explore beyond the surface, to discover joy that isn’t just an emotion, but a state of being.
