Universal Love

The Ever-Expanding Heart

Love that requires no condition, no reflection, no return; this is the highest state of consciousness. Universal Love is not sentimental or selective. It does not operate within the confines of personality, preference, or perception. It sees through every distinction and recognizes only itself.

This is love as total awareness. It loves because there is nothing else to do. It gives without the idea of giving. It embraces without needing to hold. It penetrates every boundary of selfhood and dissolves all opposites into a seamless field of being. Even the idea of “others” fades when this love awakens, for the one who loves and the one who is loved are found to be the same.

Such love is not weak; it is fearless. It does not protect itself because it knows it cannot be harmed. It sacrifices willingly because it understands there is no loss in unity. Every act, every gesture, every breath becomes an expression of this boundless compassion that celebrates existence as itself.

Universal Love is not attained through effort. It is remembered through surrender. The heart expands until it no longer has edges. What remains is a radiant stillness that loves without reason, without measure, and without end.

The Love That Sees No Other

Love often carries conditions. It bends and shifts based on who stands before us, what they have done, and how they fit within our narratives. But what happens when love is no longer filtered through preference, judgment, or familiarity? What happens when love is not reserved for a select few but moves through everything, as everything?

The idea of loving everyone and everything as you love yourself is not about adopting a passive, all-accepting sentimentality. It is a radical act that dissolves the illusion of separateness. To love in this way is to recognize no fundamental difference between self and other, between what is cherished and what is feared, between what is understood and what is unknown.

Many believe they love themselves, but beneath the surface, self-love is often conditional. It thrives when things go well but falters in moments of doubt and suffering. If love for oneself is inconsistent, how can it extend unconditionally to others? This is where the real work begins – not in forcing affection but in dissolving the barriers that obscure the truth.

Love does not seek control. It does not require agreement. It is not contingent upon behaviour, belief, or shared experience. Love, in its purest form, simply is. To embody this means relinquishing the mind’s tendency to divide reality into worthy and unworthy, friend and foe, sacred and mundane.

Walking through life with this kind of love does not mean tolerating harm or ignoring injustice. It means meeting everything with the clarity that nothing stands apart from you. Love can take the shape of tenderness, but it can also be fierce, clear, and unwavering. To love everyone and everything as yourself is not to abandon discernment – it is to see beyond distortion, beyond fear, beyond the illusion that anything is truly separate from anything else.

This is not an instruction to be followed. It is an inquiry to be lived. How does love move through you when nothing is excluded? When no one is outside its reach? When the self dissolves into the vastness of Being, what remains but love itself?

The Ultimate Love

The Force That Transcends All Boundaries

Love’s true essence is beyond comprehension, an omnipresent force so profound it erases the illusion of separation. It moves in dimensions beyond moral constructs, ideology, and identity. When fully realized, this love obliterates the ego and opens the heart so that even the most hardened souls cannot resist its call.

The human mind craves order, labelling people into categories—good, evil, victim, perpetrator. But ultimate love doesn’t comply with these distinctions. It meets each being at the core of their essence, beneath the conditioning and trauma that have shaped their actions. This kind of love can dismantle even the most fortified belief systems.

Imagine the inner world of someone consumed by hatred, caught in the web of fear, anger, and dogma. The walls around their heart seem impenetrable, yet ultimate love does not storm these walls; it dissolves them. It renders resistance futile by revealing what has been buried deep inside—a longing to belong, to be seen, and to be held in a space beyond judgment.

Ultimate love does not negotiate with the mind. It penetrates through the layers of identity, be it the identity of a saint or a sinner, revealing the same radiant essence beneath all masks. It leaves no room for pretense. This love cannot be owned, managed, or bargained with; it simply is.

Consider the most unimaginable scenario—a person shaped by the horrors of hatred, such as a Nazi, encountering the force of unconditional love. It is not a love that justifies or condones but one that sees beyond. That person’s history, belief system, and ideology would crumble under the weight of such grace. All that remains is a naked heart, laid bare in the presence of a force so magnificent it demands surrender. Not as punishment, but as liberation.

This love does not require forgiveness. It transcends it. Forgiveness suggests wrongdoing, but ultimate love offers a view where the need for forgiveness dissolves, revealing the underlying unity where all things are reconciled. When this love is encountered, tears flow not from shame, but from the relief of being released from the prison of the mind’s narratives.

This is the love that brings anyone, no matter how lost, to their knees—not out of fear, but in awe. It’s the moment when everything false melts away, and only the truth remains: the realization that there has never been separation, and love was the ground of all existence all along.

Ultimate love is not just the absence of hate; it is the luminous presence that absorbs even the darkest shadow, rendering it irrelevant. It is the undeniable force that brings every soul back to where it has always belonged—home.

Transcending Boundaries

The Journey to Kosmocentric Love

In our spiritual odysseys, there lies a zenith not often reached yet profoundly transformative: the state of Kosmocentric love. This is not just an expansion of affection but a profound understanding and acceptance that extends beyond the limits of ego, ethnicity, and even global consciousness. It’s where one’s love becomes boundless, unrestricted by conventional dualities or cultural constraints.

What does it mean to love in a Kosmocentric manner? It is to see the essence of existence—across all time and space—with a heart so open that it encompasses every facet of life, unconditionally. It’s a state where conflicts and contrasts dissolve into an all-encompassing unity that is perceived as the ultimate self, which is Love, spelled with a capital ‘L’.

Such love does not merely observe or empathize—it embraces. It allows life to unfold in its myriad forms and chaos, with the serenity of complete acceptance. This does not suggest passivity but rather a profound engagement with life that is free of desire to control or reshape it. It is to be at peace with the natural flow of existence, trusting in the cosmic dance of the universe.

To approach this state, one must journey deep within and also far beyond oneself. It is a path marked by relentless introspection, meditation, and the shedding of personal and collective conditioning layers. This journey can be accelerated by grace, an unearned gift that propels the soul toward realization.

Those who have experienced this state often describe it as being at one with everything, where personal grievances and the illusion of separation fade away. Love is not just an emotion but a permanent state of being, a lens through which every moment of existence is viewed.

How, then, can we aspire to this expansive state of being? It begins with cultivating an inner sanctuary of silence and meditation, where the whispers of deeper understanding can be heard above the cacophony of daily life. It requires the courage to let go of preconceived notions and to embrace the unknown with love rather than fear.

This exploration of Kosmocentric love challenges us to transcend our ordinary experiences and limitations, inviting us to partake in a more profound narrative of connection and universal love. It asks us to redefine what it means to love and to be loved, expanding our hearts to the very edges of the universe and beyond.

Beyond Ego

Discovering the Eternal Nature of Love

At the Ultimate Level, the concept of “falling in love” or “falling out of love” becomes irrelevant, as Love with a capital “L” transcends these temporal states. This Love is not just an emotion or a fleeting feeling, but a fundamental, unchanging truth of existence.

The Ultimate Self, an entity beyond our everyday understanding of self, engages in a unique play where it assumes the role of the ego. This ego, a construct of our limited perception, experiences the highs and lows of love, mistaking these emotional states for the essence of Love itself. However, in reality, it is the Ultimate Self-interacting with its manifestations, believing them to be separate entities.

This concept challenges our typical understanding of love, often tied to specific people, times, or experiences. In contrast, at the Ultimate Level, Love is a constant, unvarying force. It’s not something one “falls into” or “out of.” Rather, it is a permanent aspect of our true nature, often obscured by the illusions of the ego.

Understanding this can transform how we approach love in our lives. It encourages us to look beyond the transient emotions and experiences that we often mistake for love and to recognize the deeper, unchanging Love that is always present. This perspective can lead to a more profound, serene, and unconditional form of love, not just for others but for ourselves as well.

By embracing this view, we can begin to see the play of the Ultimate Self in our lives. We realize that the experiences of falling in and out of love are just scenes in a much larger play, orchestrated by the Ultimate Self. This realization can bring a sense of peace and wholeness, as we understand that at the core of our being, we are always in a state of Love.

In conclusion, at the Ultimate Level, love is not an act or a state, but a fundamental truth. The ego’s experiences of love are merely the Ultimate Self’s way of experiencing itself, a reminder that at our core, we are all embodiments of this eternal Love.

The Paradox of Unconditional Love

From Relative to Ultimate Self

In the pursuit of understanding love, especially unconditional love, we encounter a profound dichotomy between our relative self and our ultimate self. This journey from dualistic thinking to a non-dualistic state of being offered a rich terrain for philosophical exploration.

#### Relative Self: The Duality of Love and Judgment

The relative self operates in a world of dualities. Here, we are taught to “love the sinner, hate the sin,” a phrase that encapsulates our struggle to navigate the complexities of love intertwined with judgment. This perspective, while grounded in good intentions, often leads us into a labyrinth of conditional affection, where love is metered out based on perceived right or wrong.

However, this is not the endpoint of our journey with love. As relative beings, we are called to observe our actions, thoughts, and emotions without judgment or bias. This doesn’t imply a passive existence but rather an active engagement in self-awareness. It’s about understanding our reactions and biases at every stage of our development.

#### Ultimate Self: Realizing Love as the Essence of Being

Transitioning to the concept of the ultimate self, we enter a realm where the individual self dissolves into a universal consciousness. In this state, “everything is the self, and of the self,” leading to the realization that all there is, is Love – with a capital L. This Love transcends the dualities of the relative self. It is not just an emotion or a state of being but the very essence of existence.

Unconditional love, in this ultimate sense, is not something one can force. It’s a realization that emerges as the soul matures and lets go of attachments and prejudices. It’s recognizing the self in all things and all things in the self.

#### The Path to Unconditional Love

The journey to unconditional love is neither linear nor predictable. It involves years of introspection, meditation, and conscious efforts to detach from the biases and attachments of the relative self. This path requires patience, as unconditional love doesn’t happen overnight.

In this process, action and acceptance go hand in hand. While it’s important to act and change situations for the better, it’s equally vital to accept what cannot be changed. This acceptance is a form of unconditional love, acknowledging that not everything is within our control or needs to be controlled.

#### Conclusion

Unconditional love is more than an ideal; it’s a transformative journey that bridges the gap between the relative and the ultimate self. It’s about realizing that at the core of our being, beyond the layers of judgment and bias, lies an all-encompassing love. This realization dawns not through force but through a gradual awakening of the soul, ready to embrace the self in all its forms.

The Mirror of Compassion

Seeing Beyond the Self

In a world often driven by divisions and distinctions, the essence of seeing others through a lens of love is a profound step towards transcending the superficial boundaries that separate us. This insightful dialogue between host Steve James and me in this episode “Bodhi in the Brain” on Guru Viking, unveils a perspective that challenges the conventional paradigms of self and other.

The narrative unfolds a journey towards seeing others not as separate entities, but as reflections of our being. It’s a call to embrace a higher perspective, where love becomes the lens through which we perceive the world around us. This perspective is not about blurring the lines but about seeing the inherent unity that binds us all.

As this dialogue delves deeper, the notion of seeing others as we see our children emerges as a metaphor for boundless compassion and unconditional love. It’s about nurturing the seeds of empathy and understanding, allowing us to transcend the habitual tendencies of judgment and separation. This is not merely a philosophical idea, but a transformative practice that has the potential to reshape our interactions and relationships.

The profound statement, “Love thy neighbour as thyself,” is revisited with a fresh understanding. It’s not just a moral injunction but a pointer towards a state of consciousness where self and other are recognized as manifestations of the same divine essence. It’s about realizing that the same life force that animates our being also flows through every other individual, thus creating a bridge of compassion and understanding that transcends the apparent differences.

The journey towards seeing others as we see ourselves is a voyage into the heart of compassion. It’s about dismantling the walls of ego that keep us entrapped in a cycle of separation and conflict. It’s about cultivating a heart that sees not with the eyes of judgment, but with the eyes of love and understanding.

This perspective invites us to reflect on the quality of our interactions and the lens through which we perceive others. It’s a call to step into a space of openness, where love becomes the guiding light illuminating the path towards a more harmonious and compassionate world.

This conversation in “Bodhi in the Brain” is a dialogue with humanity, urging us to awaken to the boundless potential of love and compassion that resides within us. It’s a reminder that in the mirror of compassion, we see not just the reflection of others, but the reflection of our true self, united in the dance of existence.

As we embark on this journey of seeing others through a lens of love, we are not just transforming our perception; we are contributing to a collective shift towards a more compassionate and unified world.
